At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the imperial city was in chaos. The court have somewhat suppressed the Yellow Turban Rebellion initiated by Zhang Jiao. After Dong Zhuo entered Luoyang, the capital city of Eastern Han, he abolished the young emperor and reigned with terror. Warlords took the opportunity to recruit and train their troops in the name of an uprising against Dong Zhuo. There were a total of 18 Warlords who participated in the uprising against Dong Zhuo. After years of turmoil, the various Warlords finally formed the three most powerful countries: Wei, Shu and Wu. This is why this period is named the The Three Kingdoms Period. During the unrest, countries other than Wei, Shu, and Wu are called Qun as Neutral forces in the War of the Three Kingdoms game.
